ANALYSIS OF WAVELET COMPRESSED LIGHTNING SIGNATURES
SPECTROGRAM
This is a  spectrogram of an uncompressed, unaltered signal.  Notice that there are two pulses - known as trans-ionospheric pulse pairs (TIPPs).

This spectrogram was created using a windowed fourier transform.  The windows used is a 128-point Hanning function (half-cosine function)

The horizontal yellow lines are CW carrier frequencies.  These wiill be removed by a process called prewhitening - our next step.

The frequency ranges from 25.5 MHz to 50.5 MHz with a center frequency of 38 MHz and a sampling rate of 50 Megasamples per second.
