Cliff A. Joslyn (PhD, MS, SUNY-Binghamton; BA Oberlin College with High Honors) is a Member of the Technical Staff of the Computer Research and Applications Group (CIC-3) at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and an Adjunct Instructor in Computer Science at the University of New Mexico, Los Alamos.

Dr. Joslyn is a reviewer for the journals Information Sciences, the International Journal of General Systems, and the Society for Computer Simulation Transactions on Simulation; a member of many scientific review committees; and an editor of the Principia Cybernetica project for the collaborative development of a systemic-evolutionary philosophy.

CURRENT WORK:

I'm currently involved in a data mining project for the detection of fraud in IRS databases of electronically filed tax returns (we're currently trying to hire a GRA, if you know someone who might be interested).

I'm a member of the International Program Committee of the 1997 Conference on Intelligent Systems and Semiotics, and chair of the Workshop on Semiotic Methods of Information and Knowledge Processing, to be held at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

I'm co-author of the Fuzzy Logic and Fuzzy Expert Systems FAQ.
